Una de las novelas nominadas para el premio Hugo en 2012 es Among Others, acabo de terminar la lectura y abajo esta mi opinión y detalles acerca del libro.

Acabo de saber que Among Others fue el vencedor del Hugo Awards deste año, felicitaciones a Jo Walton…
Pero necesito repetir y refuerzar mi opinion acerca del libro:
- el universo de fantasia creado en el livro es debil y no tiene nada de original (en mi opinion claro);
- el foco principal del livro no parece tampoco ser la magia, o las hadas, pero si la vida de Mor, la protagonista trabajada con demasiada profundad;
- en el livro san citados una centena de otros libros de cientificos , pero en mi opinion eso no contrubui para la historia y en una buena parte del livro llega a ser aburrido.
Opinion es Opinion, cada uno tiene la suya…yo se que la mia hace parte de una minoria, a la gente en general les gusto el libro…pero como estoy en mi blog…voy hablar de lo que penso 😉 Abra’zos!

Resumen:
El libro cuenta la historia de Morwenna Phelps por su diario. Día tras día, seguimos la rutina de esta niña que huyó de su madre a vivir con el padre que no conoscia (y que la envia a un colegio internado).
Mor tiene un problema con la pierna. Alem de eso perdio su hermana gemela. Además ve hadas y hace magia. Alias el libro muestra una visión muy peculiar de la magia como algo más realista de lo que estamos acostumbrados a leer.
Lo mismo ocurre con las hadas, en este caso lo grotesco es la forma rara como se comunican las hadas.
Los Personajes
Morwenna Phelps:
Es la protagonista del libro, tiene alrededor de 15 años, y es loca por Sci-Fi y como dije anteriormente ve hadas y hace magia. Es muy ética y tiene “problemas familiares” que se van a exhibir durante la lectura. En una entrevista, la autora dice que mucho de lo he descrito acerca de Mor es autobiográfico.

Y el padre de Mor, no puedo decir mucho sobre él, pero él disfruta de la lectura de sci-fi tambien.

Mi Opinion:
De 0 a 10 la nota es 2.
El libro no podía sostener mi atención, incluso en su extremo o punto culminante. En realidad yo tampouco podía identificar donde estaba el clímax del libro, o incluso cuál era el principal problema de la historia.
No puedo decir que me identifiqué con la forma de la autora de contar la historia y tambien yo creo que algunas partes del libro son totalmente desnecessarias.
Fue muy agradable citar a otros libros de sci-fi, pero por lo hacer todo el tiempo y comentar sobre ellas en todo momento durante la narración de la historia el libro se hizo más lento y la historia fue totalmente olvidada.
Los puntos fuertes son una visión creativa sobre la magia y las hadas, pero está tan diluido en la narrativa que pierde por completo la fuerza.

John Walton nació en 64 en el País de Gales, y la escritora gano algunos premios literarios por obras de ciencia-ficción y literatura fantástica. El lugar de nacimiento de la autora y de la protagonista del libro son el mismo, no por casualidad.

En general, mi gusto mucho este libro. Las pocas fallas son sensillamente olvidadas. Yo lo recomiendo para jovenes y para todos a que les gusta la ficcion.
